If you’re looking for books to learn Italian that make language practice fun and easy, you’re in the right place!
From puzzle books to travel journals and bilingual fiction, I’ve got you covered!
I was born and raised in Italy (beautiful Sardinia), and studied English at a language school when I was younger.
I loved it so much that I’d grab anything I could to learn new words. I had it all: dictionaries, grammar books, workbooks… But honestly? A lot of it felt boring and uninspiring.
Years later, after I moved to the UK, my English husband decided to learn Italian and ended up feeling exactly the same way—stuck with dry textbooks and dull Italian language workbooks. That’s when I thought: there has to be a more enjoyable way to learn Italian.
So I set out on a mission to make it fun, and that’s how my Italian puzzle books were born!
I wanted to focus on helping learners build vocabulary in a way that actually sticks. Instead of random word lists, each puzzle is built around a theme, making it easier to recall words later.
And every book follows a broader topic—like Travel to Italy, Home and Family, or Our World—so you’re always learning in context. You’re not just memorizing, you’re absorbing.
Each of my puzzle books includes 100 fun and challenging activities, from Italian crossword puzzles and word searches to word scrambles, cryptograms and other cool games. You can start with any volume, no need to go in order.
But wait, c’è di più! I didn’t stop there. I believe learning a language should be enjoyable in all its forms, so I also created a Travel Journal and a Bilingual Fiction book. Whether you’re planning a trip or just love Italian culture, there’s something for everyone.
These are the kinds of books to learn Italian I wish I had when I was starting out: fun, entertaining, and memorable.
Whether you’re after engaging Italian language learning books, a creative twist on the classic Italian language workbook, or simply the best book to learn Italian language in a fun way, you’re in the right place.
So where can you get them?
If you’re in the UK or US, you can buy them directly from my shop and support me as an indie author.
If you’re elsewhere, you’ll find all my Italian books on Amazon.
Often, those who learn Italian also love to travel to Italy, if they can. So my first puzzle book includes lots of useful words related to travelling, packing for a holiday, staying in a hotel, visiting a museum, as well as a few Italian cultural nuggets.
This second puzzle book is centred around the all-important theme of life at home and with the family.
You’ll be able to pick up new words about family relationships, various rooms in the house, cooking and eating and spending time with your loved ones.
This third puzzle book is great for picking up new vocabulary related to life on our beautiful planet Earth.
For instance, you’ll be able to learn new words about the natural world: animals, plants, the environment, geography, mountains, oceans and much more.
Many people who learn Italian dream of travelling to Italy one day. This journal was designed to help with both.
It includes packing lists, travel plans, daily prompts, and useful Italian words—so you can stay organised and capture your memories, all while picking up a little language along the way.
This notebook was created for learners who enjoy picking up new Italian words—whether in a book, a podcast, or a chat with a native speaker.
There’s space to write down vocabulary, create your own example sentences, and even keep track of those sneaky false friends that can trip you up.
Some learners enjoy building their Italian through stories. This bilingual fiction book follows two women, Lisa and Mary, as they navigate heartbreak and healing at a community centre in London.
The Italian and English texts appear side by side, making it easy to follow the story while exploring the language at your own pace.
