A memory tucked inside these words 👗

One of the things I noticed after moving to the UK was how relaxed people are about popping out to run errands. Someone might nip to the supermarket in jogging bottoms, pick up the children from school wearing whatever was comfortable, or walk the dog in exactly the same clothes they had on at home.

Growing up in Italy, it felt different. Even for something as ordinary as buying bread or stopping at the local shop, there was an unspoken habit of looking presentable before leaving the house. Not glamorous, just tidy, with colours and clothes that went together.

These days I've happily adopted a bit of the British approach, and I have to admit there's something wonderfully freeing about doing the weekly shopping dressed exactly as I was while loading the dishwasher. Part of me still wonders whether I'll bump into any Italians I know... and what they might think of me! 😄

Maybe I've become a little more British in my approach to leaving the house, but I still love the Italian vocabulary that comes with getting dressed.
