Animali della Fattoria - Printable Italian Word Search

A duck, a donkey, a peacock… and even a butterfly or two. There are all sorts of animals to spot around the farm, but what are their names in Italian?

This word search gives you a little extra challenge. The words beneath the first grid are in English, so before you can find them, you’ll need to work out their Italian translations. If you get stuck, don’t worry, there’s a table further down the page where you can check them.

Then you get to do it all again. 😊
The second puzzle uses the same Italian words, but they’re hidden in different parts of the grid, so you have two full puzzle pages to solve.

The alarm clocks I never asked for 🫏🐓

Growing up in a rural Italian village, we didn't really need alarm clocks. At first light, my neighbour's donkey would start braying – or ragliare, as we say – and just when he finally seemed to have said everything he had to say, my nonno's rooster would take over and start to cantare, the polite way to describe it.

I especially resented the two of them during the summer holidays. No school, the perfect chance for a lie-in... but the asino and the gallo clearly had other ideas. 😄

Once you've tracked down every animal in this word search, you can put your spelling to the test with my Animali della fattoria word scramble: some of the same animals are hiding in there, just a little more jumbled up.
